About Me

I am an instructor in the Social Science Division at NYU Abu Dhabi. I received my PhD from the Department of Politics at Princeton University in May 2023.

I study international security, focusing on the international aspects of civil conflict. Broadly, I am interested in the relationships between sponsoring states and proxy rebel groups. A central theme of my work looks at how the alliances and rivalries of state sponsors affects their proxies. Regionally, I focus on the Middle East and North Africa. My work relies on formal theory, especially contest and principal-agent models, and qualitative case studies.

Before Princeton, I received a BS in Regional and Comparative Studies (Middle East concentration) from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University.
